How to Apply
We are a Private Voluntary and Independent (PVI) setting and therefore you do not need to apply for a nursery place in January in the same way you might do for other nurseries. All you have to do is contact us and your child can begin at any time, subject to availability. Please get in touch with Stephanie, our Pre-School Secretary, to arrange a visit and for details on how to apply. You can download the admission forms for the Caterpillar and Butterfly rooms here.
When to Apply
Children are welcome to join the Caterpillar Room as soon as they turn two and older children can join our Butterfly Room the term after they turn three. Children do not have to be living in Ickleford to join the Pre-School - we welcome children from any of the surrounding towns and villages.
Our fees are currently £15.75 per session. Each session is 3 hours. Lunch Club (12.05pm until 1pm) can also be booked at a cost of £5.25 per day although this can also form part of your child's funded hours.
Children aged three and over are eligible to receive government funding to cover the fees for a minimum of 15 hours and a maximum of 30 hours a week . This includes any sessions that are taken at other nurseries or Pre-Schools. Due to our opening hours, Ickleford Pre-School can currently offer a maximum of 23 hours of funded education to those children who are eligible. Children are able to access their funded sessions as follows:-
A child born in the period 1 April to 31 August will become eligible for funded sessions from 1 September.
A child born in the period 1 September to 31 December will become eligible for funded sessions from 1 January.
A child born in the period 1 January to 31 March will become eligible for funded sessions from 1 April.
Children aged two may also be entitled to funding if you are in receipt of income support or income based job seeker’s allowance. Please contact us for further information.
We are able to accept childcare vouchers and are registered for Tax-Free Childcare. Please contact us for further details.
