A friendly caring environment
Ickleford Pre-School cares for children from two years old until they start school. Our dedicated team is led by experienced staff. We provide a safe, friendly environment where children are nurtured and encouraged to have fun while learning. Every child is recognised as unique, with care tailored to his or her needs.
We are open five days a week, with a mixture of morning and afternoon sessions, and a lunch club that runs every day. Up to 23 hours of free childcare is available, as part of the Government's initiative to support parents.
At the heart of the community
The Pre-School is based at Ickleford Village Hall, in the heart of our small and friendly village. It has been offering early education to children for more than 25 years and is a key part of the community. In addition to children from Ickleford, the Pre-School is attended by children from Hitchin and the surrounding areas, including Letchworth, Stotfold, Fairfield Park, Shefford, and Pirton.
As a pack away setting, we are not restricted to any particular layout for our play areas. The Pre-School is generally set up in the same way each day to provide continuity and familiarity. However, we are able to adapt our environment to suit any occasion, for example a special event or visitor.
How we operate
We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, registered with Ofsted. We operate as a registered charity run by a committee made up of parents and other members of the community.
